Café Combinne

Offering the opportunity to become acquainted with people from your area, Café Combinne is a have-a-chat café, where Dutch speakers and people whose first language is not Dutch get together once a week to talk about everyday things. The topics discussed depend completely on what the participants choose to talk about. People learning Dutch can practice the language here. A Dutch-speaking host or hostess is also present.

Many learners of Dutch find it crucial to practice speaking the language. While there are many activities for this, Café Combinne stands out in this respect. Here, you can practice Dutch in real-life situations. You'll hear everyday speech, similar to what you'd hear at the market, pharmacy, or café. All this happens in a familiar setting, with the host or hostess extending a warm welcome and providing assistance as needed.

Café Combinne presents unparalleled opportunities for Dutch speakers as well. Here, you'll encounter individuals from diverse cultures and backgrounds, guaranteeing engaging discussions. Additionally, you'll experience the fulfilment of introducing newcomers to local (community) life in the municipality, all while inevitably gaining fresh insights into your own language.

Everyone is welcome to join us: students, retirees, expats, Dutch learners, and non-native speakers who already have some Dutch-language experience, ... This diverse group makes Café Combinne a truly unique opportunity.

Join us every Thursday from 2h00 to 4h00 p.m. at GC de Kam. This casual conversation café is open to all, and you can come and go as you please. Coffee, tea, and water are available free of charge.
